About the Webinar

“Women’s Rights & Legal Remedies” is a practical and interactive session designed to help law students understand the legal rights and protections available to women in real-life situations. The webinar will cover constitutional safeguards, domestic violence, POSH, matrimonial rights, maintenance, dowry, stridhan and key criminal law protections, along with landmark judgments and practical legal remedies. Students will also work through a realistic case scenario and learn how to identify legal issues, applicable laws, evidence and appropriate remedies—making the session both concept-focused and practice-oriented.

About the Speaker

Adv. Meenu Padha is a practicing advocate with six years of experience, appearing before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and District Courts. Her work focuses on women’s and children’s rights, legal awareness and access to justice.

Beyond courtroom practice, she is deeply committed to legal education and mentorship. She regularly provides legal education and practical legal training to law students from across India, helping aspiring lawyers develop a stronger understanding of law, legal drafting, advocacy and the practical aspects of the legal profession.

A passionate advocate for social change and legal empowerment, she has delivered 200+ lectures across India at institutions including Delhi University, Amity University Noida, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, HPNLU Shimla, and IIT Jammu, speaking on women’s rights, child protection, legal awareness and access to justice.

She serves as an External Member of the Internal Committee (IC) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu, and is associated with several PoSH and Internal Committees, including those at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, GGM Science College Jammu, GDC Paloura Jammu, Department of Telecommunications, EPFO J&K & Ladakh, and DIET Jammu. She is also an IC Member at Arni University, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

She is a member of the Women Welfare Committee of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, and has been featured as a speaker on Josh Talks. She also serves as the National Advisor to Embark Care Foundation, India and Advisor to People’s Hut Foundation, J&K.
